The Book of Matthew by Pastor Melissa Scott

I’m making you do some Bible footwork here. Turn in your Bible to Matthew 28:18. “Well, Mrs. Scott’s making me learn my Bible.” Maybe we’ll get to some of those ‘unused’ pages. I’m going to wait for you all to get here because this is very important. 28:18: “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.”

“All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore”   therefore, based on that fact that all power is given unto me in heaven and earth, based on that authority that all power is given unto me in heaven and earth, based on that premise “therefore go and do this thing.” That’s the “therefore.” And how could such a little tiny word have such an impact? It forces you to go back to the previous statement and say “because of that.”

Okay, go back to Revelation 1:18 and 19 now. And you add in “Write ‘therefore.’” Now I’m going to tell I know there’s people out there listening to me that are going to say “Well you’re not supposed to add or take away from what the Scripture says.” That’s correct. I have access to some of the better fragments of the originals and I can tell you that the King James was not the original. So if somebody says we’re not to add or take away, that is true. What we’re doing is we’re saying here “What did Jesus say?  Period. “Write the things”   ”Write therefore the things which thou hast seen.”

“Write therefore, based on what? “Write therefore, based on the fact that I’m the living one and I became dead and behold I’m alive. I’m living unto the ages of ages and I have the keys of death and Hades.” On that authority, on that premise, on that knowledge, I’m standing right here in front of you telling you this, John. On, based on this authority, “Write therefore the things which thou hast seen, the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter.”

Pastor Melissa Scott tells us that it’s a little tiny word, but it forces you to go back to that first look at 1:18. And the beauty of all this is, if you are vacillating between how could this be and is this really real?
